Singles and couples welcome! Learn ballroom basics and by the end of 6 weeks you will have the fundamentals to get out on the floor and dance! Social dancing is great exercise and a great way to meet people while learning a new skill.
Bio: Leslie Peck has taught Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz since 1995 and began teaching Ballroom and Latin in 1998 in Florida, New York City and now Southern California. She has a B.S. in Dance from Jacksonville University and was a professional Ballroom Dancer from 1999-2009 and an International Latin competitor from 2001-2004.
Leslie was the co-director of Pharcyde Dance Center in Jacksonville, Fl, directed the Tap dance program at Pine Forest Elementary, an Arts Magnet School in Jacksonville, Fl, taught Ballroom at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Fl, taught at Dance New York in NYC and also at You Can Dance Studio in Hermosa Beach, CA.
Some of her career highlights include teaching Lisa Rinehart (Barishnikov’s wife) Tango at The White Oak Plantation, teaching Salma Hayek and Jared Leto for the 2006 movie “Lonely Hearts” and training children for the 2004 Junior Olympics. Leslie enjoys introducing beginners to the world of dance and has years of experience teaching children and adults of all levels.
